Find out how Nick from Colchester made the transition from the leisure industry into owning his own recruitment business with the support of Prima Ardelle Associates…..
What appealed to you about going into the recruitment industry?
When I saw the advert it ticked a lot of boxes. The working from home opportunities, just Monday to Friday regular hours, and of course, the earnings potential is so good!
Why did you choose to partner with Prima Ardelle Associates?
It was fortuitous. I saw the ad; they were looking for suitable candidates. When I met them they seemed genuine and helpful, and very welcoming, giving me all the information I needed. They offer a good opportunity.
What was the training and mentoring support like?
That’s been really, really good I have to say. The week we had up there was intense and then Martin came here for a week to set me off. They’re always at the end of the phone and Martin pops up regularly, with Bonita supporting on the phone.
How quickly did you get your business up and running?
The business itself is pretty instantaneous once you’ve been on a few site visits to a potential clients and started building a database of candidates. You can be up and running fairly quickly. It does take a little bit of time to get through the processes of picking up candidates, vacancies and interviews before making your first placement. You have to bear with it and if determined, it can be done. It took about three months from starting off to getting my first placement.
What is your vacancy opportunity value (in pounds £) and how long did that take to obtain?
I always have huge vacancy opportunity available at any given time often in excess of £40,000 a month. The methods used by Prima Ardelle Associates are second to none and designed to get the business up and running as swiftly as possible – one of the main attractions for me was how easy this was to accomplish.
What made you decide to take the Associate Partner option?
It was the best option for me when I applied. After discussion with Martin and Bonita I was aware of the full franchise opportunity but wasn’t in the financial position to take that one up. This way was a lot more affordable and accessible which suited me both financially and in terms of employment opportunities.
How has your lifestyle changed? (work, life balance)
That’s much better, it was one of the things that appealed to me in the first place. Working Monday to Friday is a complete change to what I’ve known in the past. I’ve always done early and late shifts and worked weekends. A couple of jobs immediately prior to this were mainly evenings and long hours over weekends. Being based at home as well has transformed things, you’ve got so much flexibility. You can do more if you want, or start a bit later or earlier.
What traits do you need to be successful within this business?
The key ones are persistence and tenacity. Just keep going. That’s not to say you won’t take ‘No’ for an answer, just be determined to create opportunities for yourselves.
What would your advice be to anyone considering a Prima Ardelle business opportunity?
The key thing is making sure you’re able to go the first two or three months without any income, until you start to get the free flow of placements coming through. Once you’ve managed to do that then it’s certainly better for the work/life balance. You’ve got to have the right personality and be happy to pick up the phone and speak to people. And be organised! If you’ve got those traits it’s a really good opportunity to take on.
